1. Who we are
Big Data SA ("we", "us") is the responsible party for personal information collected through this website. Our Information Officer can be contacted at hello@bigdatasa.co.za.
2. What we collect
- Details you submit in our enquiry forms: name, company, work email, phone number, service of interest, location and message.
- Optional details you choose to add in the "Help us prepare" section: industry, company size, province or country, timeline, budget range, preferred way to talk, and answers about your project (for example which systems or platforms you use). We use these only to prepare for and respond to your enquiry.
- Technical data such as browser type and pages visited, if you accept analytics cookies.
3. Why we process it
We use your information to respond to your enquiry, provide our services, and - with your consent - improve our website. We do not sell personal information.
4. Lawful basis
We process personal information with your consent, to take steps at your request before entering a contract, or where we have a legitimate interest, as permitted by POPIA section 11.
5. Storage and security
We apply appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect personal information. Where information is stored or processed outside South Africa, we ensure adequate protection as required by POPIA section 72.
Service providers. Two providers process the details you send through our enquiry and specialist application forms on our behalf: Supabase, which hosts the database where submissions are stored, and Web3Forms, which forwards each submission to us by email. They may process this information outside South Africa and only use it to provide these services to us.
6. Retention
We keep enquiry information only as long as needed for the purpose it was collected, or as required by law.
7. Your rights
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information, object to processing, and withdraw consent at any time. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator (South Africa).
8. Cookies
We use essential cookies to operate the site and, only with your permission, analytics cookies. You can change your choice by clearing your browser's site data.
